Pride in Brixham wins Best Overall at Bay Blooms
2017 was a great year for Brixham, not least because of the community outreach projects being performed by various groups around the town. However, for one reason in particular, 2017 was groundbreaking.
On Tuesday 19th September 2017 at the annual Bay Blooms Award Ceremony, held by The Torbay Organic Gardening Society in association with Tor2, Pride in Brixham volunteers were awarded the shield for Best Overall, triumphing over almost 500 entrants!

Pride in Brixham are a community group founded in 2006 with the aim of maintaining Brixham and keeping the town looking 'Blooming Marvellous' (their phrase, not ours!). With permissions granted from the Harbourmaster for an initial trial project (painting the toilet block in the harbour), the group now regularly plant and maintain floral displays and small gardens, apply fresh licks of paint to areas around the harbourside and support initiatives to keep Brixham looking beautiful.
In addition to the Overall Shield, Pride in Brixham volunteers were also presented with the award for the Superclass category.
The BrixFest committee would like to congratulate Pride in Brixham volunteers for their superb effort in keeping Brixham neat, tidy and beautiful - we look forward to working with you in the near future to continue the efforts!
