BrixFest receives Council Grant
At their annual grant-giving ceremony Brixham Town Council awarded BrixFest 2017 £2420 to increase the Heritage side of our events listings across the BrixFest weekend. In previous years, the Bank Holiday Monday of BrixFest has been a day split in two. Half of the day embraces Kid's Day on Breakwater Beach, while the other half hosts an anniversary-themed day of activity underneath The Old Fish Market (previous themes include 1940s, Queen's Jubilee etc). This year: the theme is Brixham Heritage!

There's a small line underneath BrixFest's logo which reads: "Celebrating Brixham past and present", and that's what we plan to do! We'll have old-style music from the ever-present Sandy Sparkle, engagement with local organisations (TBC), heritage craft demonstrations, old-style Brixham film showings (stay tuned, exciting news ahead!), and so much more.
Monday 29th May - The Old Fish Market - BrixFest 2017.
** PREPARATIONS FOR THE FESTIVAL CONTINUE! ** BrixFest has grown more than any of us could have imagined in our six years and we're so proud of the support we receive from the entire community. Festival costs this year will total almost £30,000 (for a week of events), and support from local businesses, individuals and organisations remains integral! We're reaching out more and more to bring on board corporate sponsorship to reduce the amount we rely on small independent shop owners: but every little helps.
If you'd like to get involved in the event please get in touch! There's loads of ways you can help (both financial and non financial). Email us contact@brixfest.com and ask us how you can help. There's loads to do before the festival weekend hits us...including praying for sun!
